Mark My Words
Happy New Year everyone!
*A few Walt Disney quotes ahead*
So today is obviously the first day of 2018 and I am so excited for everything this year will bring. This is going to be an exciting year for me and I hope for you as well. With that being said, there is a sort of tradition that I started with myself about five years ago. Every year on the first day of the year I make a vision board or a vision book. It is something I know many people do, and I love the idea of writing down a vision, writing down the things you want and how you are going to get them. For me, getting something down on paper solidifies it, and for the law as well. But back to what I was saying. As you will find out, I am the type of person that likes to write I have a collection of journals each with a different purpose, I just love to write things down and one day look back on them to see where I was and how far I have come. That's kind of what these vision boards are to me, so at the end of the year when I look back I can see all the these that I have done and started that I said I was going to do. It helps me put my plans and goals into actions instead of constantly talking about a dream. There are little steps I need to take before I get to the big stuff, so in the meantime that's what I do.
Growing up my mom would always tell us that we need to have a plan, we need to know what we want and know how we are going to get it. While she always stressed that we could do anything, she also stressed that dreams and opportunities aren't going to come knocking on our door, we have to go out and get it. So that's why I do vision boards, so that I know that there is always a step that I need to take to get to where I'm going and where I want to be. There is always a door opening that I have to walk through. God does His part by opening the door, I have to do mine by walking through it. So when I say this year is going to be a big one for me, mark my words that this will be a great year!

This year I made a vision book, because this year is a big year for decision making and taking big steps, from graduating from college, finally, 💆and moving back to Los Angeles on my own, and starting up my own company. There is a lot happening this year and I am very excited and a little bit shook, but I am ready for the adventure. This year will be big for me personally. However my vision book is not all about my career and making big decisions, there is everything from spiritual and personal growth to fitness goals, and long and short term goals. the type of person I want to be and how I want to impact the world. Some people might say I dream too big, but I do not think that is the case, I'm just a very optimistic person that allows her imagination to travel because you honestly never know what can come from it. So I write it all down, even if it scares me, which this years vision board did a bit. I write it down because at that point it is out of my head and it become a plan, not a dream or a hope or wish but a plan. Something that I can act on. Dreams are composed of plans that will actually make them come true, they're not only for sleeping. In the words of Walt Disney,
"It's kind of fun to do
the impossible."
It is also a way for me to hold myself accountable. I figure in this world and this industry, I cannot wait for someone to push me or give me permission, I have to push myself and know that I already have permission. I do not need to ask anyone but God and He's already set me up. I realize that no one can chase my dreams for me, and no one can live out my purpose for me, so why waste what I have by doing nothing? The worst that can happen is it doesn't work the first time, but daring myself to try again is what got me to where I am today.
"All our dreams can come true,
if we have the courage to pursue them."
-Walt Disney
